Digital and Website Manager(Independent contractor)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Watershed Community Development is seeking a highly organized and experienced digital design and web professional to support communications across multiple brand entities. This independent contractor role will manage web design and maintenance, develop wireframes as needed, and create digital graphic assets for marketing materials in alignment with our evolving communications needs. The ideal candidate is a collaborative
and proactive designer with both technical and creative strengths who can support a fastpaced team in delivering high-quality content on tight deadlines.
CORE FOCUS AREAS INCLUDE:
Position is local/hybrid with regular team meetings on Microsoft Teams and in-person at the Watershed offices in the Seattle, Georgetown area as required.
Website Design & Maintenance:
o Design, maintain, and update websites (WordPress platform)
o Create and manage wireframes for new web content or redesigns
o Implement and troubleshoot plug-ins, integrations, and front-end improvements
o Ensure responsive design, accessibility standards, and functionality
Graphic Design & Digital Production:
o Produce branded digital assets
(e.g., one-pagers, email templates, social graphics, financial and fundraising visual graphics)
o Design templates and layouts for internal and external communications
o Ensure brand consistency across multiple projects and entities
o Create visual assets for Mailchimp campaigns and other digital platforms
Asset Management & Collaboration:
o Organize and manage digital assets in Microsoft Teams
o Collaborate closely with key communications team members to refine designs
o Manage review/sign-off cycles and meet critical project deadlines
o Participate in remote check-ins via Microsoft Teams, with occasional in person meetings as needed
Qualifications:
o 3+ years of experience in digital graphic design and website management
o Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
o Advanced WordPress skills, including plug-in management and site optimization
o Familiarity with Mailchimp, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and digital asset organization
o Strong communication skills and ability to take direction and feedback
o Ability to juggle multiple projects across brands while maintaining attention to detail
o Self-motivated, organized, and reliable
o Sense of humor!
Details:
Approx. 40 hours/month
3–6 month initial contract with potential for extension
Salary: $60 per hour not to exceed 40 hrs. per month
