We are delighted to announce that Lara Kaminoff, a Seattle-based cartoonist and teaching artist, has been selected to illustrate the new The Bend: Live/Work District Plan for Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood.

The District Plan will present Watershed Community Development’s overarching vision for the new The Bend Live/Work District and its essential components. Lara will engage with the plan content in curious and playful ways to bring ideas, designs, and technical information to life while demonstrating the centrality of art and artist’s to the development of the new District.

Lara has produced illustrations for The Stranger, RealChange News, Seattle Sounders FC, USPS, City Arts Magazine and more. Passionate about community-oriented illustration, Lara is excited to join a project dedicated to creating space that she sees as “thoughtfully reckoning with the injustices of our past, while opening up the creative possibilities of our future.” Follow Lara on Instagram.
