For many students, the week following Christmas vacation is something to be dreaded, but not at Watershed, where back-to-school means a week of exploring new interests and discovering hidden talents. “Project Week” is a chance for students to choose a topic they want to learn more about, and, under the guidance of a “subject matter expert” aka their “SME” they spend the whole week learning, building, taking apart, practicing, observing, mixing, playing, and having fun. Project week culminated on Monday evening, after students spent the day putting the finishing touches on their projects and presentations before beginning a new semester on Tuesday.
Watershed students took full advantage of the opportunity, delving into a wide array of topics and trades, and it was standing room only Monday night in the Lincoln Street Center Gallery as students, faculty, parents, friends, and community members poured in to enjoy some pretty impressive presentations.
We’ll spend the next couple weeks giving you a more detailed look at many of the individual projects for any of you that couldn’t make the presentations, but here’s a quick list to give you an idea of the diversity of experiences enjoyed by the Watershed students this year during Project Week.
